iO improves the online experience at Maastricht University ​ 

A fresh look, improved navigation and rewritten website content to deliver exceptional user experiences. ​ ​ 

Blended agency iO partners with Maastricht University (UM) to improve central content and digital user experience. The result? A website with a new look, intuitive navigation, and rewritten content. The optimisations have recently successfully gone live. 

Ask Maastricht University 

In the 23/24 academic year, after strategic exploration, UM decided to optimise its central content. The aim was to reach its various target groups, make information easier to find, and present content in a more visually appealing way. iO won the tender and worked together with UM to shape the optimisations. 

Blended approach delivering the best results 

After an extensive kick-off, UX and UI designers and content strategists from iO, together with UM, made an inventory of the wishes for the central content and tested them against the needs of UM’s target groups of prospective and current students. With the insights gathered, iO sharpened the user interface and user experience – for desktop and mobile. iO created new designs for the homepage and landing pages, developed a new navigation structure and (re)wrote content in Dutch and English. iO then built the pages in UM's content management system and published the new and rewritten content while taking care of the redirect plan. ​ ​
