Firda partners with iO for development of new digital platform

Firda, the organisation that came from the merger of ROC Friese Poort and Friesland College, has entrusted the development and management of its platform to iO.

A merger with impact

ROC Friese Poort and Friesland College offer secondary vocational education in the North of the Netherlands. The two educational institutions will join forces to form a resilient, future-proof organisation. With around 25,000 students and almost 3,000 employees, Firda will be the second-largest regional training centre in the Netherlands.

Digital accessibility is a priority for the new Firda website so the WCAG standards will be central to the design, development, construction, and management of the website.

Drupal - the engine of the new website

The new Firda website will launch on August 1st 2023 and will be built in Drupal, an open-source, scalable CMS. Thanks to its extensive community, Drupal offers consistently relevant methods for developers to tackle complex projects in a personal way.

About Firda

From 1 August 2023, ROC Friese Poort and Friesland College will be Firda, a new ROC that offers MBO level education in Friesland and Northern Flevoland.
