Brussels Airport Company and iO create the ultimate traveller experience

New app guides travellers seamlessly from doorstep to gate.

Brussels Airport Company and its strategic partner iO share one mission: to provide the 22.2 million people who use the airport annually with unparalleled travel experience. That’s why Brussels Airport Company launched a new app that seamlessly guides travellers from home to the gate and helps visitors and users find their way. Blended agency iO was responsible for its development.

Brussels Airport Company aims to provide an exceptional customer experience to its airport users, from trip preparation to takeoff. To achieve this, Brussels Airport Company recently revamped its app in close collaboration with iO.

From packing to boarding

Each year, Brussels Airport welcomes approximately 22.2 million passengers travelling to 220 destinations worldwide, offered by 72 airlines. To smoothly guide business travellers and holidaymakers to and from their gates and allow them to enjoy what the airport has to offer along the way, Brussels Airport Company is expanding its digital ecosystem. For over 10 years, the organization has relied on its longstanding marketing and digital partner, the blended agency iO.

In close collaboration with the digital and strategic teams of Brussels Airport Company, iO developed an app that maximally assists travellers:

“In March of this year, we had only one goal in mind: to provide travellers with an app before summer that offers them carefree holiday and flying pleasure,” says Stijn Bonjean, Project leader at iO. “Not just today, but also tomorrow. So, we ensure that the app can be smoothly scaled up and expanded as travellers expect or need more features.”

Real-time interaction with the airport

This new app assists travellers flying to and from Brussels Airport in real time. Users can follow the airport's happenings and receive up-to-the-minute flight information. They can also look up flight details, check for potential traffic issues, find check-in counters and gate locations, discover information about lounges, restaurants, and current promotions in airport shops, and use a handy travel planner that guides them step by step. The app’s features and information will be expanded and fine-tuned further soon.

You can download the free Brussels Airport Company app from the App Store and Google Play Store
